Linguistics: Sydney Corpus Lab workshop

Hosted by the Sydney Corpus Lab

This hands-on workshop run by Dr Matteo Fuoli (University of Birmingham, UK) will introduce participants to UAM Corpus Tool, a free software for the annotation of text corpora. It can be used to annotate multiple texts at multiple levels (e.g. Noun Phrase, clause, whole document). Users can also create annotation tools of their own design to suit their data and research needs. It can be used to search for all instances of a feature (e.g. all finite clauses), to compare datasets (e.g. conversational patterns used by different groups of speakers), and more. More information about UAM Corpus Tool is available at this link.

Important: Workshop participants should bring a laptop for this workshop and download UAM Corpus Tool prior to the event.
