The Sixth Conference of the International Research Consortium for Irish and Scottish Studies (IRCISS)
‘Sovereignty and Territory: Ireland, Scotland and their Diasporas’

The Celtic Studies programme (University of Sydney), in partnership with the International Research Consortium for Irish and Scottish Studies (University of Aberdeen), invites papers on the above theme and on related topics in Irish and Scottish Studies, concerning Ireland and/or Scotland in any period, or concerning their diasporas. Papers are welcome across a range of fields including (but not confined to) history, literature, cultural studies, language, archaeology and anthropology. In view of our host being a programme of Celtic Studies, contributions on medieval and earlier topics, as well as contributions on language, are also warmly welcomed.

Papers will be of 30 minutes duration and an abstract of the proposed paper (up to 200 words) should be sent (email preferred) by 1 November 2019 to:
